Michelle and the Marylebone Hotel - A collaboration
At the end of last year Michelle was delighted to be contacted by the Marylebone Hotel about a new design collaboration. A member of their design team had previously spotted her artwork on the front cover of the Dulwich Festival Artists' Open House booklet. The design and colours of the artwork fitted in perfectly with their newly fitted out and designed Cocktail Bar.
The Marylebone is a luxury hotel and spa within the Marylebone Village area of London and is part of The Doyle Collection group of hotels.
'The jewel box cocktail bar forms the centrepiece of the beautiful space with its features reminiscent of the old-school glamour of New York's classic cocktail bars.' The interior of The Cocktail Bar has been designed around the four seasons, with different shades of green acting as the link colour running through the different areas of the space. When visiting the space Michelle could instantly see how her artwork and the colours within it would fit in with their vision for the bar.
In fact the greens she had chosen for her artwork some time ago, seem to be having a moment in the interior design world, as is the pink.
With luxurious materials such as marble, wood panelling, brass, velvet and mohair you certainly do want to stay and indulge in some of the food and cocktails on offer. The only problem being, is which one to choose.
Michelle’s artwork 'Young Vic Abstract: Pink' has been used as the cover image for the hotel's cocktail bar menu, whilst the other relating menus feature four of the main colours from my work within their design. Along with print versions, the menus are also featured in digital form on the hotels website.
