A Splash of Colour – Craft in the Bay, Cardiff

Colourful craft and applied art

I was delighted to be invited as a guest exhibitor for this wonderful exhibition celebrating colour. You will find a lovely selection of artists and makers showing work, including glass, jewellery, ceramics and textiles.

Hoop, is a large hand-printed and painted textile wall-hanging. The yellow, pink, green, plum, grey and orange artwork has an abstract geometric composition with architectural detail and a feel of Bauhaus design. Hand-printed with dyes and pigments.

Young Vic Abstract: Pink is a hand-printed textile artwork, framed in a dark brown wooden tray frame. The small square artwork is of a geometric and architectural design in the colours of pink, mint green, red, yellow and teal green.

Celebrating Colour

A Splash of Colour is at Craft in the Bay, home of the Makers Guild Wales and situated in the grade-two listed D-Shed, one of the last mid-nineteenth century warehouse buildings in Cardiff Bay.

The gallery is a regional hub for craft and applied arts in the capital of Wales, and champions, promotes and sells work by their membership of Welsh craft makers and artists, alongside exhibitions by National and International craft makers and artists.

Framed artworks

Young Vic Abstract: Windows is a framed abstract geometric textile artwork in purple, pink, orange, yellow and blue.

As well as my 'Hoop' hand-printed and painted wall-hanging, I am also showing two of the artworks from my Young Vic series and a selection of my limited edition prints in my Traces series. I have recently had the Young Vic pieces framed in hand-stained and waxed solid hardwood, which I think really sets them off a treat. You can find them here
